Hear me out...is it ever ok to reach out to someone and ask for relationship feedback?
Specific context: I am bad at dating for reasons that are a complete mystery to me. I'm 35(f), have friends, hobbies, a clean house, and a good job. I'm probably about average in terms of looks but I'm in good shape so I figure that probably bumps me up slightly. Never married, no kids, no weird family or ex drama. My last date went really well. We hung out for several hours and agreed to see each other again. We texted for a couple weeks. He (30m) lives 6 hours away and was traveling for a bit so we didn't get together again right away. And then *poof*. He was gone. His last message to me was "I'm back in [state] now. We should try to meet up sometime soon! Hope you've been doing well." I followed up with a couple low pressure texts and offered to make the trip to see him with no response. This has been a reoccurring theme in my life. The friends I've asked seem mystified as well, or are lying to me about a character flaw I have. I'm bummed to not see him again but I'm also just interested in knowing why he had a change of heart. I'm not looking to make a big, or fake, personality shift but there must be something off-putting about me in context of dating/relationships, and I want to know what it is. Thoughts?
